Close friend died and mom won't let me go to wake or funeral...?

Personally, I think she is doing something definitely stupid. I understand because an acquaintance of mine died recently. She should definitely let you go to the funeral at least. I mean, what does she think you're going to do, drink and party. And she shouldn't be out drinking anyway. She is a terrible mother. Sorry. I pray that you will be able to go.
