Interested in Journalism Colleges?

You're better off saving a ton of money and going to KU. Its J school is as good if not better than several in your list and its student newspaper (and sports section) is one of the best in the country, both print and for the Web. The only two schools on your list whose specific J schools may be better are Northwestern and USC (Northwestern mainly for multimedia and networking, and USC for location and name recognition), and you'd be lucky to get into either with a 3.4. Syracuse is probably comparable in quality but a great deal more costly. You also need to think about the schools' athletics if you're that serious about being a sports journalist. I've actually worked with KU sports-writing alumni on occasion and it's nothing for many of them to land good, front-page-caliber writing or editing jobs or internships after graduation.
