Pigtail messy buns ok for work?

so I'm thinkin about how to do my hair 2moro & want to do pigtails but the kind that look like a messy bun on each side but since my hair isn't very long they are more like crazy ponytails but anyways is this hairdo ok for a business like but fun work setting? (some people have told me that pigtails are ok untik a certain age but they didn't say what that age was so if it's relevant I'm 19).
