They are probably terribly busy with college. The beginning is the hardest because you are having to get all the basic courses out of the way like history, foreign languages, english, sciences and maths. They have probably been very busy getting ready for their semester finals lately. Also, when you move off to college it is really hard to keep up with all the new friends as well as all the old ones from high school. It is just too much. I am sure they mean no harm.

Ok, so these past couple days, I've eaten very unhealthy. I had to help run a pizza booth for this fundraiser my youth group had, & the only thing we could eat was pizza for lunch & dinner, unless we wanted to pay like $10 for a meal somewhere else. Well, I found out that just one of the little personal pizzas, which is what I had to eat 2 of, had 590 calories &, like, 30 grams of fat each. Then, there was another booth next to ours that was selling funnel cake & I sort of gave in & got one. I split it with a couple friends so it wasn't AS bad, but it was still unhealthy. Even then, I figured up my daily calories were roughly 2,000. Then the next day, I ate a ton of Girl Scout Cookies. I figured it all up, & I found out I had eaten 25 grams of saturated fat. Ugh. But even then, I ate about 2,000 calories. So I weighed myself today & since about a week ago, I gained 2 pounds! Is this water weight? I mean, those pizzas were pretty high in sodium. Will my weight go back to normal once I start eating healthier again? I'm just really scared, because I lost about 30 pounds, & I don't want to gain it all back again. This was how I used to eat before I lost the weight, & I'm worried I'll realize how good junk food tastes & eat like that again. Maybe I'm just paranoid. Oh, & no rude comments, please!

Do I have stomach problems?

I went to my doctor about a year or so ago for Heartburn, diarrhea, unexplained weight gain, and no menstrual cycle. He took some blood and took a stool sample and the results came back normal. He gave me some medication and sent me on my way. Well now about a year and a half later nothing has changed, the diarrhea has become chronic (past two months very dark almost black), the heartburn is everyday no matter what I eat what I drink or how much pepto, tums, or prilosec I take it is sometimes unbearable I find my self purging to get rid of the pain, and I have a menstrual cycle about 2 times a year. Would these be symptoms of an ulcer? Can some one please help me???

Bleeding ulcer worry!?

I have just had some results back from the doctors and it seems i am bleeding internally I presented myself last week at the doctors with severe stomach burning pain that went into my back. They have found blood in my stool samples. They think i may have a bleeding ulcer as i have been diagnosed with these through a endoscopy last year. I am booked in for a endoscopy and a colonoscopy next Tuesday. My question is while i am waiting, is the bleed going to get worse as i have been told once a ulcer bleeds the pain almost goes away. You're better off saving a ton of money and going to KU. Its J school is as good if not better than several in your list and its student newspaper (and sports section) is one of the best in the country, both print and for the Web. The only two schools on your list whose specific J schools may be better are Northwestern and USC (Northwestern mainly for multimedia and networking, and USC for location and name recognition), and you'd be lucky to get into either with a 3.4. Syracuse is probably comparable in quality but a great deal more costly. You also need to think about the schools' athletics if you're that serious about being a sports journalist. I've actually worked with KU sports-writing alumni on occasion and it's nothing for many of them to land good, front-page-caliber writing or editing jobs or internships after graduation.

Good kids DVD's that are educational?

My nephew is 4 but has learning difficulties. He is lagging in some areas such as being toilet trained and speech. My sister also has two younger twins which take up a lot of her time and she even admitted that she just doesn't have the time to spend with her son that she could. She takes him to speech therapy and he goes to child care one day a week but otherwise she switches on The Wiggles and lets him watch that. I offered to teach him art a couple of hours every fortnight to give her a break and he has really taken to it. The thing is it has been 3 months now and suddenly he is learning things that he has never before. It is a suprising breakthrough for her and especially me since I am not a trained teacher. He particularly likes ons and the computer and I sit and show him how to get around kids websites etc. he is very visual and seems to relate to minute detail. He loves the Wiggles and I think they are entertaining for a while but not educational enough for him. If he had another DVD that my sister could put on for him that would actually teach him a bit more about life I think this would help him. Until he learns more unfortunatly he will not be able to go to normal school and my sister just does not have the time to spend with him. Does anyone have any suggestions about good educational DVD's? It would be better if they were Australian productions as he could relate more to them especially the accent.

Need help with run away labs?

I have two labs they are both 4 years old, they are brothers. I had one at my mom's and my husband (boyfriend at the time) had the other. When we got married we got mine and outside kennel like his brother's to stay in when we weren't home. He was used to a fenced in yard with electric fence around the top because he wouldn't quit climbing out. Now we live on 60 or so acres and don't have a fenced in area so we bought an invisible fence for them. At first they both did great Hunter which is my husband's dog persay got out a few times because he was used to getting to run around where ever he pleased. From time to time he will run through the fence and roam the neighborhood. He isn't gone for more than a couple of minutes before we go after him because we don't want him to get run over or in a fight with the neighbors dogs. When he sees us in the truck he comes a running and jumps in the back no problem. My dog Gunner never ran through the fence because he knew from the fence at my parents that he wasn't to go near it. Well now he's the one running off because he ran off with Hunter one time now he just runs right through the beep warning then the shock. I don't want anything to happen to him because he's my baby and I just had to put my other inside dog to sleep and couldn't bear to lose another one. He know's when he's been bad but I don't know what to do. We play with him he gets exercise everyday he's in his pen for no more than 7 to 8 hours and out as soon as we get home. When we are outside with him it's like watching a child's ever move to make sure they stay right there with us so they both don't run off? The neighbors have been shooting any dog that comes in there yard and they've already shot another lab of a friend of ours and I'm afraid they thought it was one of ours. Please help me I don't want one of them killed.

Tropical Fish Ailments - Mollies?

My female molly - pearl white - has developed a growth on top and just behind the head, immediately in front of the fin. It has pinky colouration and looks a little like a crew cut. In addition there is what looks like a bruise on top of the head between the eyes. Her movements are slow and give the appearance of rocking backward and forward. Nothing at all in between no matter how he begged. And of course, nobody else interfering to nullify the discipline. For the shrieks, spray him with bottled water, like a windex bottle. It's painless and very efficient so long as your are consistent in getting the bottle every single time.

I have Windows XP Professional. I am trying to use the remote desktop to connect to a POS system. After I enter the IP address I get an error box that says "Remote Desktop Connection has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience." Then it gives me the option of sending an error report. I called the POS people and they did remote access and checked to make sure everything was configured correctly, it was. They told me it was microsoft. I called microsoft and they told me that Remote Desktop came preinstalled and to call HP. I called HP and they said it was problem with a microsoft program call microsoft. I have been chasing my tail for two days! Please help!

OK, we just finished the clroom portion of medical school yesterday and start rotations in a couple weeks. We all started celebrating at like 10 am and only got like 2 hrs sleep the night before. Anyway, later on (like 10 pm) we're at the bar and my two friends (female clmates that I have been quite close with) decide that they want to take an Excedrin for the caffeine. I told them that was a bad idea because acetaminophen is rough on the liver especially when drinking. Plus it's a pretty stupid way to get your caffeine fix, (yes, these are med students!). They wanted me to take one and I told them no and repeated my reason for not wanting it. Apparently they thought I wasn't quite peppy enough so they decided to do something about it. About an hour later I saw some pill fragments in the bottom of my drink! I instantly became enraged and slammed the gl down upside down on the table and yelled "why the eff is there a effin pill in the bottom of my drink?!?!" I told my "friends" that we were done and walked home a couple blocks. Anyway, this "friend" came after me and I told her that we are NOT friends anymore and please eff off forever! She kept calling and hollering outside my door at like 1 in the morning. I finally threatened to call the police and reminded her that her career would be ruined if she didn't stop. She finally left, but keeps wanting to get together to talk about it but I don't think there's anything so say. The thing is that I never even heard the words "I'm sorry", just a bunch of crap about how I did her wrong by not talking to her and leaving her by herself or some crap. (BTW, we're in one of the safest cities in the midwest, no danger!) I think she's insane and don't want to be friends with either of them anymore, but they swear I'm overreacting. What do you think? I think it was an unforgivable act and also incredibly stupid for med students to be slipping people pills. I don't feel like I know them anymore since this was such a colossal failure in judgment and demonstrates a level of idiocy I never thought I would see from these people. Opinions?

I find myself in a kinda tough situation with my parents. I work in the window service business for my father (he's my employer). Teething and crying at night?

What pain killer are you using? Ibuprofen (Motrin) is ONLY thing that worked for my daughter during these times. It is an anti-inflammatory so it works better then Tylenol for teething. It's also her first tooth at 15 months old- she is probably more aware then a young baby getting thiers, and it's freaking her out a little bit. COULD I GET CUSTODY OF MY CHILDREN FROM MY EX....?

About 3 years ago I decided to leave my ex , at the time my children were 3 an 1 1/2 years old, I took them with me . I moved into a apartment and was working two jobs( waitress and cashier) . It was during the summer time so my sister 17 years old at the time watched them while I worked.I had my rent and my new car payment plus insurance on my car and utilities to pay for and on my income it was tough. My ex refused to give me any money. After about 3 months I was getting very behind on my bills and was about to have to quit one of my jobs so I could be at home with the boys, due to my sister returning back to school. She was a big help but it was time to make a decision in the best interest of the children. My ex had a very good job and health insurance so we talked and decided that at the time they would be better off living with him due to my financial situation. I was not to pay child support because he said he didn't need my money but we agreed to split costs such as co pays and activities or clothing for the boys. After signing papers , I received a letter from the judge asking us to come to court to re access the situation no more than a month after signing papers. In the court room he just explained he couldn't waive child support by law and would just order 40 $ a week that would not be enforced. so i have been giving my ex 100 $ every two weeks since. but not too long after seeing the judge my ex informed me he had quit his job and no longer Had health insurance . it was in the divorce that he would provide health insurance and there were other things in the divorce he was to up hold like for example the trailer he and the children were living in was in my name but he was to keep up the payments and there was a loan on his truck in my name that he was to continue paying. none of these obligations of his were meet. my trailer was repoed with out me knowing until i received a lawsuit and i also received a notice that the loan was delinquent. anyhow i remarried in June of the next year and i live 50 miles from were the children live , i see them every other weekend and 3 weeks during summer and 2 weeks at Christmas and 1 week during spring. it has now been 3 years and the children still do not have health insurance he does not take them to the doctor when they are sick and he does not brush there teeth or clean there finger nails and keep them clipped. my husband and i have health insurance through his job at the sheriff's department but are unable to get it on the boys because they don't live in our house as we have tried. i have also tried through all kids and medicaid but have been turned down because i am not ordered to have insurance on them. i have told my ex this and encouraged him to try with medicaid and all kids but he still fails to do this. he is a loving father but i do not feel he has the boys health and interest at best. i feel that i can provide for them more now that i have straitened my finances out . i now live in a house that is paid for and have two vehicles one that was just recently paid for . i have never been on drugs or in any legal trouble. i am a good mother and these three years have been the hardest i have ever endured. after talking to the boys over the phone , when i hang up i just find my self in in tears as i do when i drop them off at home. after knowing all this do you think i have a chance at getting custody of them from there father.

Well there are two types of depressions which people go through. One is being deppressed and sad, the other is being deppressed and angry. Yous sister seems to be depressed and angry cuz of the things that have happened to her and these people get angry on very little things and want to be dominant. Well u can also say that she is frustrated. I know this from personal experience cuz i am in the same situation as you and my mother is the same like your sister and we have the same fights and stuff. What you could do is try to listen whatever your sister say and dont argue. Also do things that would make her happy. Thats the only solution u can make her stable. I do it to make my mom stable. Hope this works out and still if it doesnt than seek advice about her from a psychologist but dont take herself to one cuz than she would be more mad at u. Hope this helps :)

Struggling with panic attacks.?

2 weeks ago i had my first ever panic attack. it was awful th feelings i felt. the week after the first attack i probably had about 3 smaller attacks and then last weeks i had bouts of anxiety but no attacks. Today i woke up, felt fine got in the car with my friends and girlfriend and in the car i could feel a panic attack swoop over me, my face went all tingely, my hands and feet went numb, i ***** breathe and thought i was gunna p out with my heart pounding so much. he dropped me off home and it turned into a mive panic attack shaking ***** talk/breathe everything u could think of, i thought i was a gonner. i finally calmed down about an hour later and fell to sleep...only to wake up now and feel like im on the edge of having another one.....im trying controlled breathing and it does help a small bit, but i feel like im just delaying it by doing this.....any other advice anyone can give? im so exhausted and tired of this feeling and people who have never had them before have no idea what its like....

Unless you lock them up in their room there is no escape! i think its important to expose them to everything (within limitations of course) that way they can learn the right path themselves. Also having an idol is sometimes a good thing. When i was in high school i used to have problems with low self esteem and confidence and watching the lizzie mcguire show with Hilary Duff actually really inspired me as she got over her 'hurdles' of lacking self confidence it taught me to get over mine. Lindsay and Britney are not so much targeted to kids these days whereas Hilary and Miley still are. I think they both set good examples and its up to your parenting skills to help them distinguish what is "good" and what is "bad". Story istance?

I'm creating an original project that speaks of discrimination, war and the misuse of religion. A city begins the macre of certain people, claiming that they're blots on the planet-and a colossal disgrace to the heavens. Two characters move into that city, believing that they'll have a rather peaceful time, but the city's not what it appears to be. It's perfect on the outside, but is actually riddled with blood and corruption. I wish to put a twist on the characters (turning one to the 'dark' side, for example). It'll be a combination of modern and fantasy elements, but not too dark or gritty! Could someone help me with the characters? I have just got a job on the airlines that is due to start in may, i put a deposit down on a flat near to the airport, to live by myself because my partner has been cheating.but then i realized i had said i had go no unspent convictions on the airline application and that i may have 1. I went to court last year and i am waiting to find out exactly what i got but it is either a bind over or a 12 month suspended sentence,either way i DO have a criminal record, i rang the airline to tell them about it and they want me to send them a copy of a disclosure and they said they would take it from there. In the meantime the letting agent wants to ring the airline to confirm my employment.
